Traineeship Grants, Calmette Programme
These grants, funded by Institut Pasteur International Division, are designed to promote and facilitate traineeships for researchers (students, researchers and technicians) from the Institut Pasteur and the Institut Pasteur International Network (RIIP) in Institut Pasteur or in an RIIP member institute.
Traineeship areas may include all themes developed in the laboratories of the Institut Pasteur and RIIP: research on the infectious diseases (infectious physiopathology, immunology, microbiology, epidemiology, virology, parasitology) and health service activities (surveillance, resistance). In any case, the subject of the traineeship must be directly related to the applicant’s research topic. Traineeships should strengthen the trainee’s research skills and contribute to building capacities in his/her home institution.
The Traineeship Grant covers the cost living expenses, by contrast the travel costs are the responsibility of the applicant's home institute.
These awards are distinct from study grants, which have their own application process.
The applicant must prepare a Master 2 or equivalent degree, or a doctorate in medicine, the sciences (veterinary or other), and/or pharmacy.
In case of Traineeship for PhD students, the duration is limited to 1-4 months per year and possibility of renewal for three years after evaluation without ever exceeding 8 months maximum for all the thesis. Research traineeships must be done outside of the applicant’s home country and may be done in several different laboratories.
A Selection Committee will distribute traineeship awards according to the relevance of the project, the goals of the traineeship and research programs of the applicant’s home institution.
Priority will be given to researchers who have never been funded by Institut Pasteur International Division : traineeship or study grants.
