Scientific Institute of Public Health



The Scientific Institute of Public Health (ISP-WIV) supports public health policies via scientific research, expert advice and service activities.

On the basis of scientific research, the ISP-WIV formulates recommendations and solutions for public health priorities and proactive policy at the Belgian, European and international levels. The Institute evaluates health and health indicators using scientific methods that it develops, analyses and validates from the vantage point of a quality-certified system.

The ISP-WIV creates advanced solutions for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases and emerging infections, as well as for the identification and prevention of health risks, including those linked to the environment.
