The SISEA project is supported by a partner laboratory, the NCLE, and aims to strengthen the capabilities of this national laboratory. The project contributes towards technical assistance in virology and epidemiology.

Patients are recruited at Setthathirath Hospital in association with the WHO/CDC at Mitthaphab and Mahosot Hospitals. The implementation of virological and epidemiological analysis has been slower in comparison with other SISEA project sites, but the first results, in particular in the field of surveillance of influenza syndromes, have already been obtained.
