Numéro spécial sur la tuberculose et autres mycobactéries

La revue scientifique "Infection Genetics and Evolution" (Elsevier) vient de publier un numéro spécial : « Molecular evolution, epidemiology and pathogenesis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and other mycobacteria ».

Ce numéro spécial inclut 12 revues et 25 articles originaux de recherche couvrant un large éventail de thématiques de recherche basique et recherche appliquée allant des modèles animaux classiques aux algorithmes les plus sophistiqués pour l’analyse de données.
Les thématiques incluent entre autres l’épidémiologie de la tuberculose, les facteurs de virulence, la résistance aux traitements, l’évolution de la pathogénèse des mycobactéries, les nouveaux marqueurs et les innovations technologiques pour l’analyse des mycobactéries. Les équipes ayant contribué à ce projet viennent de différentes régions du monde, de tous les continents et incluent souvent des consortiums multinationaux, soulignant ainsi l’importance de la coopération et de la complémentarité dans la recherche moderne.
Deux des trois éditeurs invités sont membres du Réseau International des Instituts Pasteur : Igor Mokroussov (Institut Pasteur de St Petersbourg) et Nalin Rastogi (Institut Pasteur de la Guadeloupe).

The journal "Infection Genetics and Evolution" (Elsevier) has just published a Special Issue on “Molecular evolution, epidemiology and pathogenesis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and other mycobacteria”

This special issue includes 12 invited reviews and 25 original research articles covering a wide array of important and diverse topics of basic and applied research ranging from classical animal models to the most recent sophisticated algorithms for data analysis. Topics include: global and regional epidemiology of tuberculosis; co-evolution of Homo sapiens and M. tuberculosis; virulence factors, drug resistance, fitness of phylogenetic lineages of the M. tuberculosis complex; new markers and technological innovations for high-throughput analysis of mycobacteria; new algorithms for treatment of molecular typing data; global and local databases of M. tuberculosis; evolution of pathogenic mycobacteria. The research teams that have contributed represent different world regions, all continents and in many cases they include multinational consortia thus highlighting the vital importance of cooperation and complementarities in modern research. Note that two of three Guest Editors represent the Institut Pasteur International Network : Igor Mokrousov (Institut Pasteur of St. Petersburg), and Nalin Rastogi (Institut Pasteur de la Guadeloupe).
