The Executive Director shall have a term of office of four (4) years and may remain in office if continuously appointed by the Board of Directors in accordance with the agreement between Uruguayan authorities and Institut Pasteur de Paris.

Environment
The Institut Pasteur de Montevideo is an international scientific institution founded in 2006 in Montevideo (Uruguay). One of its main aims is to contribute to the development of biomedical research in the MERCOSUR region, by strengthening research and education in post-genomics biomedicine and biotechnology.
The IP Montevideo main objective is the development of excellent science in the field of biology, with particular focus on biomedicine. It follows the model established by the Institut Pasteur de Paris, where an adequate articulation between a high quality basic science and its applications has been established.

- constructing a modern building
- creating up-to-date core facilities in the area of genomics, proteomics, molecular and cell biology, bioinformatics and transgenic animals
- attracting young and brilliant scientists working in first-world laboratories
- carrying out 10 international teaching courses and 5) establishing a biotech development program.
Job Description
The Institut Pasteur de Montevideo is seeking for an Executive Director.
Requirements
- The candidate must be a recognized leader in the field of biological sciences and biomedicine, their applications and impact on users and society.
- He/she must be able to lead and manage a team of highly skilled research professionals and be experienced in management of academic institutions.
- Adequate knowledge of the Spanish language will be required.
- He/she will ensure the articulation of the Institute with national and regional academic institutions and with Uruguayan authorities and funds.
- He/she must maintain the privileged relationship with the Institut Pasteur de Paris and with the international network of Pasteur Institutes.
